Complex trauma
Whether it began in childhood or in later relationships, trauma can leave you with persistent self-doubt, hypervigilance, emotional triggers, or the sense of being stuck.

As a trauma-focused therapist, I understand that healing isn't about ‘getting over’ difficult experiences but learning to live alongside them with greater ease and self-compassion.

A space to begin
We begin where you are, at whatever pace feels right. There's no need to tell your story before you're ready — safety and trust are built slowly, and built between us.
I work with adults who have experienced childhood trauma, complex PTSD, and relational wounds that may echo in present relationships and self-perception. My approach recognises that trauma lives in both body and mind, and that true healing happens when we feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted exactly as we are.
Areas we may explore
Whether it began in childhood or in later relationships, trauma can leave you with persistent self-doubt, hypervigilance, emotional triggers, or the sense of being stuck.
We work gently and at your pace, so your nervous system can begin to learn — not just know — that you are safe now. As that settles, the memories tend to loosen their hold.
Dissociation isn't a fault or a failure — it's a protective response your mind learned when something was too much to bear. We begin by making sense of it together, which often takes much of the fear out of it.
Nothing has to be spoken before you're ready — you decide what is shared, and when. Together we make room for what happened, and for rebuilding your sense of choice, boundaries and self-worth.
There is no single way this feels. You may be numb, angry, frightened, ashamed, or unable to think about it at all — and any of those is a response to something that should never have happened to you.
I meet you exactly where you are. You decide what is spoken about and when — you do not have to describe what happened in order to be helped. Our work is simply about your choices being yours again.
What's left behind often isn't visible: shame that never really belonged to you, difficulty trusting, and a feeling of being disconnected from yourself.
Nothing is rushed, and nothing is required of you. Over time we work to separate you from what was done, so that the shame begins to sit where it belongs — which was never with you.
Emma’s approach
Therapy with me is about recognising, respecting, and gently nurturing the strengths that have brought you to this point, and not about ‘fixing you’. I offer a relational integrative approach: our therapeutic relationship is a space where patterns, emotions and insights can emerge through the connection we build together.

This free, no more than 30-minute video call provides a warm, collaborative space where we can talk about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain. It’s an opportunity for us to meet, see how we connect, and decide if we feel comfortable working together.
